The Dowse Foundation exists to provoke ambition and create opportunities. Our mission is to support a thriving centre of artistic excellence, which enriches local communities and the New Zealand arts environment as a whole.
As an independent charitable trust, we raise and manage funds that are distributed to support activities at The Dowse that transcend its core Council-funded priorities and create value for its communities.
Make a targeted donation, or support our general fund
You may wish to support a specific aspect of The Dowse’s work (e.g. collection care, education projects) or make a contribution to our general fund, which Trustees administer to support ambitious projects.
You can see the kinds of projects dedicated and general funds have supported on the Outcomes of our Work page of this website.
The Dowse Foundation is a registered charity. Donations over $5 are usually eligible for a tax credit equal to one third of your charitable donation. This effectively means that you can make a donation of, for example, $1000 and may receive a tax credit of up to $333.33.
Companies can also make a charitable donation and claim a tax deduction.
